A TREE GROWS IN BROOKLYN (1974) TV Movie Starring Cliff Robertson, Diane Baker and Pamelyn Ferdin.

Was wondering if this great TV-Movie was ever released on Video or DVD?

Would love to see it again. A friend once had an old copy of the film taped from a TV airing many years ago. I remember it had an announcer talking over and ruining the End Title music advertising an upcoming show. Always hated when TV announcers would talk over end titles of unreleased scores back in the day when recording with a cassette off the TV was the only way you could get the music.

Alas it has never been commercially released -- and it absolutely should be!

Wasn't a cue included on the "Jerry Goldsmith At 20th Century-Fox" set?

Looking forward to receiving the new La La Land CD with the expanded A TREE GROWS music. I can remember watching the movie and loving the cue when the new baby was being born and how it had such a dramatic timing and build to it, that fit the scene so perfectly. So delicate and beautiful. The genius of Goldsmith!

Eight cues! (And another eight added to the program by LLL on their new release!)

But zooba was talking about the film itself, which is still commercially unreleased.

I'm surprised that this television film wasn't released as part of 20th Century-Fox's "Cinema Archives" M.O.D. D.V.D.-R. series.

I mean there are theatrical Fox films with Goldsmith scores that didn’t even get that treatment, like Ace Eli or Justine (in its original aspect ratio).

Is this a different film with the same name?

Yes that’s the black and white 1945 classic Elia Kazan theatrical film, with score by Alfred Newman.
