Can someone tell me, is there actually a Carry On movie in which Kenneth Williams actually says “oooh, Matron”? Need it for a project i’m working on on British movies.

That would make sense.

Probably Carry on Nurse (1959) or Carry on Doctor (1967)

No, definitely not Carry On Nurse, Williams played it pretty straight in that early one. Probably Carry On Doctor, & he may have just said: Matron! But I'm not going through it to check, I think my days of watching Carry On's are over. smile

The closest thing I can think of to that line is in “Carry On Camping,” when after Barbara Windsor’s bra flies off, he gasps in shock before exclaiming “Matron, take them away!”

Time for Rameau to lay off the Carry On and carry out another moniker such as Abandon On ... or Bugger Off.

Well, the IMDB quotes one occasion where he utters the word in CARRY ON DOCTOR:

Dr. Tinkle: It's an enigma, Matron, an enigma.
Mr. Roper: I'm not having another one of those.

The "obvious" answer would be CARRY ON MATRON, so it's probably not that.

I would imagine if he did sort of say it, its the ones where Jacques matron is trying to seduce Williams's Doctor and hes fending off her advances, like Camping, and probably Doctor and Matron.
Dunno about Again Doctor. Cant remember plot.

Thanks guys. Interesting this is like “you dirty rat” and “beam me up Scott” as Williams doesn’t appear to have actually said the line that so many people imitate.

Don’t remember much about the plot of Again, Doctor except that it’s more or less a vehicle for Jim Dale (who I knew mostly for the Harry Potter audiobooks before diving into the Carry Ons) and that a “weight-reducing serum” plays a major plot point. I will say that there’s no romance of any kind between Williams’ doctor and Jacques’ matron (who is romantically pursued by Sidney James in the film). In fact, she actually helps Dale outwit Williams in the film’s last act.
