Yes. But . . . Like many geniuses, he likes to work--and work often. It's what they do and, often, who they are. So, over the course of his career there are many--perhaps a couple of dozen--that attest to his genius. There are also many mediocre films and even some bad ones. Still, I admire that great desire to continually create--it's like British actors, from Olivier and Caine, who'll act in practically anything.

Still, I admire that great desire to continually create--it's like British actors, from Olivier and Caine, who'll act in practically anything. He did a good radio interview a few years back. He said the reason he made films back to back was because he enjoyed the process, & the crew & actors were always great company. And once he'd finished a film, he lost interest in it & never wanted to see it again, & he feels that was about all his back catalogue, he's not at all religious & once he's dead, that's it, he just doesn't exist anymore, so all the films could be burnt for all he cares.
