STAR TREK 4---Paramount Pictures removed the sequel from its schedule after director Matt Shakman left to direct the FANTASTIC FOUR reboot movie.





BLADE---Marvel Studios announced that director Bassam Tariq has left the reboot movie, “Due to continued shifts in our production schedule, Bassam is no longer moving forward as director of BLADE but will remain an executive producer on the film. We appreciate Bassam’s talent and all the work he’s done getting Blade to where it is.”

THE WITCHER: BLOOD ORIGIN---Minnie Driver will play Seanchai, a "shapeshifting collector of old lore with the abilities to travel between time and worlds" in the Netflix miniseries prequel.

DAHMER: MONSTER--THE JEFFREY DAHMER STORY---the serial killer miniseries drew an impressive 196.2 million viewer hours in its first week.

GODZILLA---John Carpenter will host a Shout Factory! Godzilla Marathon which runs from November 3-6. The movies featured are GODZILLA, RODAN, GHIDORA: THE THREE-HEADED MONSTER and THE WAR OF THE GARGANTUAS.

HERE---Paul Bettany has joined the cast of the movie based on the graphic novel of FORREST GUMP team of Tom Hanks, Robin Wright, director Robert Zemeckis and writer Eric Roth.

ANNE RICE'S INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE---AMC renewed the series for Season 2. Season 1 premieres on October 2.

GRENDEL---Netflix cancelled plans to develop a tv series based on the comic book.

TRIVIA--in THE TWILIGHT ZONE episode "The Old Man in the Cave", Academy Award-winner James Coburn played militia leader Maj. French, who terrorizes a small town after a nuclear war. In the episode "The Shelter", Coburn was the voice of the CONELRAD announcer, who said the United States might be under a nuclear attack.

Really, nobody believed this was actually happening anyway. Not even the cast...


I'm convinced directors in particular keep announcing projects just to keep their name in the media.
Self promotion has gone off the deep end.
