Wow, a new heroic fantasy video game score by my new hero Bear McCreary only just two months after his 9 hour long mammoth LOTR soundtrack release?

This was totally unexpected...until yesterday noon when I see totally by chance a huge 50 feets high GOD OF WAR RAGNAROK new game poster ad on a building in downtown Brussels....

Then came this thread...to confirm the thing!

Can't wait for the full score release Nov 11th.

I share your frustration but the remark is getting a bit tiresome, Adam...

Me.

The irony being that Adam is so far stuck into their nauseating bit that they didn't realize iTunes is a software to manage a media library on your computer. Apple Music is typically where Apple hosts digital media releases now, if I'm not mistaken. And there are many other options for consumers. Regardless, the bit is tired. Does this person even post or reply to anything other than expressing their mentality about digital only releases? Seems more like a bot than anyone actually invested in the hobby of listening to or collecting film soundtracks.

Actually, Apple dropped the name iTunes in 2019, I believe. But apparently the “iShitTunes” joke is just too good to give up.

May I suggest the alternatives

So what do you think about Mcreary's score the first game? I don't remember hearing any discussions about that one. But I thought it was fantastic. I wound up buying it twice. The first time I didn't know the US release was a CD-R, and then I bought the EU or German release which is an actual pressed disc. I'm hoping that there will be a similar situation here, where there is a CD option available some where.

His score for the 2018 game is quite good. I didn't take to until after I had actually played the game, years after it released. But as is I think it was a great warm up for Rings of Power. He still remains one of those exciting composers to me, nearly 20 year after first hearing his Battlestar Galactica work.

I just finished using iTunes on my Microsoft Surface to upload five albums to my Apple Music account. As I do not live in the Apple microverse but prefer this cloud library.

I was going to say, it still lives, but maybe it's just a zombie. But it's the only way I can load music into Apple Music.

And now, Back to Bear! Judging just from the first couple minutes of the first track, it's a lot of fun, if not exactly anything new. Not that there's anything wrong with that - it's what it is supposed to be, and well done. I'll be listening!

I wouldn't say it's bad, but ultimately both cues did nothing for me.

IMHO better than his first God of War score and better than his Rings of Power.

Bear has said physical media news will be coming for Ragnarok

This new 118 min effort by Bear McCreary is once again outstanding.
How is he doing to produce all that amazing stuff still haunts me...

Just listen to this track, it's fantastic.
It has everything one can dream of any heroic fantasy music.

Oups! Another show....

Bear is everywhere...and I won't complain. He rocks and he rules.
Probably the very best composer of his batch generation.
