This came today. Finished disc one, now listening to disc 2. First impressions - relentless. Like being hit over the head with an orchestra for 2 hours, almost. Most of the first disc feels like it's in the same tempo. Disc 2 has a bit of breather but not much. I think every player was playing all the time. Anyway only play one.
Mine arrived too. Yeah, bit of a bummer that it's one of those crappy fold-out 3 card packs (Amazon deffo stated jewel case in their blurb). But cool it's a 2 disc set and pressed CD too. I haven't played it yet, but might spin it in a bit, as I dig out the old suitcase and start me packing for next week. A bit alarmed by Damian's quip, as what I loved about the first score were the 'beauty' and 'calm' tracks amongst the battle action and grunting. Full on relentless can get a tad wearisome after a while.
I respect my stuff and if it came to me damaged, I make a complaint. I don't understand the problem, plastic cases can come cracked in the same way and then I make a complaint too.
Giving it a second spin. And while I stand by my earlier comments I'm enjoying it a little more. There is some respite from the relentless. Maybe 2 hours in one go is too much.
