Kev, thanks for posting that fan made extension of the main title. Main theme starts at about 3:24. I believe it was near the beginning of episode 5 that it was used very effectively in one place.

Coming from England I found no problem with Rafe Spalls accent in fact if i closed my eyers i thought it was Tom Hardy from Peaky Blinders. I would have rated this series as one of the finest of the year, the bittersweet ending was beautifully realised.

UZ, I'm glad you had no problem with his accent. I had no problem with Blunt's, Rhea's, or Tom's accents, but I couldn't understand Spall's words. Not sure why.

Yes, the ending was as you said, "beautifully realised."

I know the songs are effective but just 20 minutes of score from 6 episodes is a disappointment.

Especially disappointing for Silva Screen who normally excel at this stuff...

And track 2 has dialogue stepping all over it. Seriously? I guess this release wasn't made with film score collectors in mind.

Btw...sorry to be such a pedant, but his first name is FEDERICO.

My mistake Kev. Apologies to Mr. Jusid!

------------------------------
I'm sure he won't mind.
In fact, if he's looking, he's probably just happy that we're talking about his music in the first place.
And you can amend it you know, with the simple edit option.

Thanks Kev, will do

Finally listened to the Silva download.

Very impressive score.

The energetic passages that are more in a traditional western style have the excitement of The Magnificent Seven theme but, befitting the subject matter, less tuneful but more intense. The reflective cues sound like they were temp tracked with Dances with Wolves.

Really, not a bad blend. Dances with the Mag 7.

After being prompted by joan Hue, i watched this series and this is what i had written on the other side of the forum.

Joan, i finally tackled this gritty western series.
Wow, over halfway thru, great cinematography and direction, emily Blunt and chaske spencer are superb, as is every one of the casting, like they really took care to get the actors wholly believable. Action is especially stylish and well-handled.

And fedrico Jusid music is excellent. Have since got the score.

The only thing i found a little disconcerting/too much was Rafe Spall's attempt to channel Tom Hardy in psycho mode.

Overall it has some minor italian western Leone hints, but its style is more like those dour grimy early 70s westerns like Jeremiah Johnson, mccabe, spikes gang, Doc, ulzana's raid etc.

Loving it. 9 out of 10 so far.

So glad you are liking this show. I loved it. I agree with all you sad. R. Spall was the one bad thing in this series. Also, I couldn't understand most of what he said. You are still in for some surprises in the last two eps.

I finished it fairly quickly after i wrote that review, was too good to wait. Yeah overall great. One of best things ive seen in 2022. Spall was despicable but so ott, and his Alfie Solomons impression from peaky blinders kinda grated. Was a shame because everyone else was so competent. Includung the composer
