Finally listened to the Silva download. Very impressive score. The energetic passages that are more in a traditional western style have the excitement of The Magnificent Seven theme but, befitting the subject matter, less tuneful but more intense. The reflective cues sound like they were temp tracked with Dances with Wolves. Really, not a bad blend. Dances with the Mag 7.

After being prompted by joan Hue, i watched this series and this is what i had written on the other side of the forum. Joan, i finally tackled this gritty western series. Wow, over halfway thru, great cinematography and direction, emily Blunt and chaske spencer are superb, as is every one of the casting, like they really took care to get the actors wholly believable. Action is especially stylish and well-handled. And fedrico Jusid music is excellent. Have since got the score. The only thing i found a little disconcerting/too much was Rafe Spall's attempt to channel Tom Hardy in psycho mode. Overall it has some minor italian western Leone hints, but its style is more like those dour grimy early 70s westerns like Jeremiah Johnson, mccabe, spikes gang, Doc, ulzana's raid etc. Loving it. 9 out of 10 so far.

So glad you are liking this show. I loved it. I agree with all you sad. R. Spall was the one bad thing in this series. Also, I couldn't understand most of what he said. You are still in for some surprises in the last two eps. I finished it fairly quickly after i wrote that review, was too good to wait. Yeah overall great. One of best things ive seen in 2022. Spall was despicable but so ott, and his Alfie Solomons impression from peaky blinders kinda grated. Was a shame because everyone else was so competent. Includung the composer
