Hey guys sorry to bother you all. I’m going through a backlog of soundtracks I purchased and finally landed on my favorite James Horner work to give it another spin and wanted to know if the original album tracks are mixed differently at all from Intrada’s expanded program. I listened to all of them and they seem to be identical. I own several releases where the film versions are mixed differently from the album cuts. Can anyone with better ears confirm for me? Thanks!

The main program cues are (in some cases, but not every cue) louder than the OST program cues on the Intrada album, however the takes used appear to be the same.

I just loaded both main and OST program cues into an audio editor and just compared the two, and one exception I noticed, though I did not check every single track, was "Hamburger Rhumba", which looks as if it was mastered with the dynamics compressed a tiny bit for listening on the OST program.

Thanks for thanking the time out from all the holiday craziness to check that for me. I really appreciate it! And yeah I did notice that the volume seemed louder on the expansion than on the album tracks, but otherwise I didn’t notice any actual differences in the mixes themselves, unlike for example Batman ‘89, The Untouchables, or the 4-track suite from Black Rain. Thanks again and have a blessed Thanksgiving! smile
