I still do this day, laud her, just like Charlie Barnett(also RIP as of 96...), did in DC CAB. Anytime I boost a Cara song, I tend to....mirror CB's behaviour in DC Cab. If you've seen it....you'll understand.
A beautiful soul, hope she is singing beautifully in the next plane....
Thanks to a concatenation of circumstances, I was in a screening room at the Paramount building in Manhattan one afternoon when Alan Parker and his team first screened a rough cut of "Fame" for its young cast. It remains an amazing memory. I had no interaction with anyone in the room, except a friend who was a part of the marketing team. The film was largely completed, with some scenes that didn't make the final cut, and some scenes that hadn't been looped yet so were silent. It was obviously going to be something special, and my impression was that the cast was catching opening night fever -- busting at the seams and eager so show off what they'd done. Ms. Cara was so very young, as were the other cast members. I will treasure that experience forever. RIP to Ms. Cara, her family, and friends.
