I don't know. The first one: nice to listen to, but in one ear and out the other. Forgotten as quickly as heard.
Second: better, but I feel zero need to ever hear it again.
I happen to LOVE both of these scores. Perhaps the cue I posted from VIOLENT NIGHT doesn’t convey the sheer brilliance, complexity, and energy of the soundtrack. I try not to pass judgement based on listening to one cue. Your loss.
I do not know this composer, but I've enjoyed all three of the tracks you've posted. I hear some very tiny Christmas Carol motifs in the last youtube. Thanks so much for posting these.
DR. N, thanks for posting two more tracks. I'm impressed. There is a lot of variety in those tracks like action, drama, and comedic music. I'm also impressed with his orchestrations.
Havent seen this movie yet (VIOLENT NIGHT), which means I havent listened to the score yet (yes, Im that type of person, lol) but I've heard great things about the movie, and I love some of Lewis work! Specially THE MAN IN THE HIGH CASTLE og THE KINGSMAN!
I saw VIOLENT NIGHT yesterday and yes, it is DIE HARD meets HOME ALONE - though incredibly there's a lot of DIE HADR 2 in it as well. Agreeably entertaining but nasty: very violent for a comedy, occasionally very silly for a brutal action movie. The score interpolates several bits of existing Christmas music - carols and so forth (much in the way of Michael Kamen on DIE HARD) - but not so much that it gets in the way.
