All four films involve historical antagonists who never met each other: Juarez and Maximilian; Gordon and the Mahdi; Mary and Elizabeth; Roosevelt and the Raisuli. Two of the movies stick to the facts (well, sort of), while KHARTOUM and MARY invent fictional confrontations to further the drama.
