I'm even a fan of the two-note phrase from "Where Is Everybody" that was used during the station break the first few seasons. Damn, did Herrmann have the atmosphere down pat.

Unable to choose a favorite score. These compositions are all exceptional and well suited to the films they illustrate. That said, I mainly listen to "Walking Distance" and "The Lonely". But the other scores are wonderful; maybe “Where is everybody?” is perhaps the one I like the least... But it's very relative!
Frankly, I love them all. Enable to choose, and I don't have to. All the Twilight Zone scores are exciting. Goldsmith, Rosenman, (Fred) Steiner... All wonderful scores.
And Van Cleave's incredible score for Jess Belle. Just a brilliant bit of writing.
Still to this day, I've never seen a single episode of TZ. Nor have I heard any of its scores, I think. Apparently, 156 episodes were produced across 5 seasons, so that would be quite an undertaking. But love the film version from the 80s.
Oh my! Ignoring all issue of music (Herrmann's, Goldsmith's or whomever) I deeply implore you to do yourself an immense favor: Put away your phone, draw the curtains, and binge-watch those 156 episodes. Your life will have new meaning, I guarantee it!
It doesn't appear that anyone cites Herrmann's final score as a favorite.
Currently, I favor "Little Girl Lost" & "Living Doll" due to overfamiliarity with the 1st season scores which I had been listening to since 1985 when Varese issued them on vinyl LPs. My hard-edged self no longer stomachs the sentimental/nostalgic "Walking Distance".
Where is Everybody. Just because it was the first in all aspects. The show hit the ground running with a brilliantly done episode, made by a collection of geniuses.
And Van Cleave's incredible score for Jess Belle. Just a brilliant bit of writing.
Amazing coincidence as I'm just about to re-watch that one in another unseen-since-original-airing viewing.
Done. Neat thing, again, to see scenes from six decades ago that have never left the mind’s eye. Classic Earl Hamner, Jr. country folk yarn that he was so good at spinning. And yes, Nathan VC pulled off another gem.
