I found the painting on the cover of an ebook edition of the Rafael Sabatini novel on which the film was going to be (but ultimately wasn't) based. I don't know where the publisher got it from, who painted it, what kind of ship it is, etc, I just liked the look of it and thought a soundtrack cover based on it would fit in well with all my Tadlow albums.
