Yes this is on the right side of this discussion board.

I just came back home from a visit I did in Glasgow, Scotland. Well I have a friend who moved there from Sweden and he is now married to a local Glasgow girl. Anyway me and my parents traveled there to meet them since we have not met him since 2019 and both of us had birthdays in January so it was a nice but short reunion that lasted a few days only. However they had planned things for us the entire time we where there so it was busy doing every thing you should do when you`re in Glasgow.

Well I did have one wish and that was to visit the Ubiquitous Chip restaurant in Glasgow. For those who do not know. This is a restaurant where several people in the film music business have been for dinner through the years: Jerry Goldsmith, Elmer Bernstein and John Debney plus film music extraordinaire Mr. Robert Townson been there on several occasions through the years. So now I have also had dinner there. That was a huge deal for me. I`m a happy man now.

Is there anyone else on this board that have been there too?

I am assuming that there's only one in Glasgow and it is the one near Hillhead tube station?

It's right by Glasgow Uni and The Ubiquitous Chip was a regular haunt when I was an undergraduate there. I didn't know the history of the place at the time. I wish I had - it would have added to the ambience of the place.

If it's that Ubiquitous Chip, it does seem a bit out of the way to have had such luminary patrons!

I hear they all used the same toilet so I hope you didn't leave that opportunity unfulfilled. I can't believe Thor hasn't sniffed out the PhD dissertation possibilities for this topic.

What a cool experience, Tobias. Sounds like a place where I'd love to chow down and have a few pints.
