Did Saul Bass or Maurice Binder do the artwork for the cover for Pete Rugolo's "The Music From Richard Diamond"? Seems to me that graphic on the top of what appears to be Diamond running was animated for the "In Color" tags for the fourth and final season of "The Fugitive" (which like, "Richard Diamond", starred David Janssen and had a main theme by Rugolo).

It was Maurice Binder.

Bob, thank you for posting the images of the LP and CD for "Master of the World." The LP is the one that is my favorite. I've always loved that cover for many reasons, not the least of which it was the very first soundtrack that I purchased with my own money which was earned from mowing lawns as a kid. Thank you again.

I, too, consider the Thunderball front cover excellent .... I had this image as a jigsaw in the mid-60s which I made and remade countless times.

The Missouri Breaks has some nice rustic artwork. This is the CD cover which had some minor variations from the original LP cover. Both had the sketch of Brando and Nicholson..

Interesting to note the UK LP artwork was different for The Long Duel and for Thunderball.

I never understood why, since Toto was hired for Dune based on their commercial appeal, their name wasn't even mentioned on the cover!

Frank McCarthy did that artwork! He did film posters, but he is probably more well known for his paintings of American Indians. His lighting is insanely good. I have used several of his works as my desktop wallpapers before.

Anyway, the following is probably my favorite LP cover. I like its simplicity, and it's a good score to listen to.

Actually, now I realize that Frank McCarthy did probably half the artwork in this thread. big grin

1492: Conquest of Paradise was released on LP at the time, with a beautiful artwork:

Back in 70s i often was intrigued by covers of LPs that were tricky to obtain.

This one for instance. (Aka Shoot Gringo Shoot)

And of course this one.

Toto was a weird choice to score DUNE, I remember at the time when I first heard about it, I was rather put off by the idea. When I saw the movie, however, the score was surprisingly convincing and worked quite well, it's also a nice "DUNE" concept album to listen to (including the Brian Eno tracks). Interestingly enough, I think DUNE was also among the first if not the first movie James Newton Howard worked on (co-composing some music with David Paich).

Howard also worked with Jerry Goldsmith on the wcore for "Twilight Zone The Movie".

I just like the nice clean layout of this--two images, two text blocks. And why is this film tied up in rights limbo?

Many of Mancini's films never made it to VHS, DVD or television. Nor has his TV series "The Mancini Generation".
