One of the best Peter Pan modern film adaptations, and an excellent score. This is from the peak JNH era, sweepingly romantic and sprinkling electronics. Yup, wow.
Yeah, a magical score from JNH, full of beauty and adventure. It's hard to peg now what scores Varese have in perp. I imagined this would be one of them, but good to see Intrada giving it the deluxe treatment.

The Flying Theme was used extensively by Disney Corp in a UK advert campaign for their theme parks a good few years back. The film was quite a big flop though.
When the film came out, I was 25 years old. Its existence went in one ear and out the other; didn't really gravitate towards children's films then. I think I've seen in later years, but I only got the JNH soundtrack some 5-6 years ago. Quite like it, though. It's right there at the tailend of his most fruitful period.
"My" Peter Pan will forever be the Disney version, followed by HOOK.
Per another thread I ended up watching the flick end to end for 1st time after catching snippets over the years. Come the last 1/4 or so was getting the endless feeling. But y’all are right, Mr. Howard (oh that name!) succeeded in a prodigious effort.
Yeah, I loved the music in the film but generally found the whole film cold and uninvolving. I even found more to enjoy in Spielberg's bloated pantomime that was HOOK.
