I understand. I guess I just don't care about fashion and trends.

That was also the decade I probably had the most fun and growth. Those were "my days." I graduated high school in 1986, so there was no way for me to escape all of the new fashions, music, TV and such. MTV and Miami Vice alone changed the look and sound of my life without my watching either of them.

I grew up in the 70's and I find nothing attractive about that decade.
Excluding movies and soundtracks of course.

I've honestly never heard of the concept of "a boring decade."

In another note, do we only care about the decades we grew up in? I'll be 40 soon enough. I'm still growing up.

Nope, I find each one interesting and with their own unique flavor. I just happen to have the closest attachment to the once I spent going from teen to adult. I actually find myself very interested in whole of the 20th century mostly. Prior to that gets spotty.

Like I said, I just never got into trends or fashions. Ive never really been into pop songs which is a huge attraction for some people regarding the decades they love. For me the 70's were a depressing foggy mess. Earth tones were the colors of the time which made everything monochromatic. If I would describe that decade I'd say an instant polaroid picture- washed out and fuzzy.

I love the movies and music of the 80's but have no connection to the times, styles what have you.
I have absolutely no feelings towards the decades that followed the 80's.

I'm beginning to appreciate the artistic esthetics of the 60's which I never liked growing up.

I suppose the one decade I really love are the 50's as represented on film like American Graffiti and Happy Days. I find that period very interesting. The fashion styles, the pop music, the war, etc.

Of course I'm talking recent history, the last 100 years.
