OK, back on topic. I just find it ironic that I'm seeing some people claim that a Science Fiction TV series whose over-arching menace is a secret cabal of evil White Men (none of whom were elected democratically) who control the very movement of government and society itself, and would sell out the human race if it meant they alone survive... wasn't "WoKe" from the get-go.
I find it amusing that some people claim that a cutting edge TV series didn't pit a brilliant mind of science at the forefront of humanity's survival by developing vaccines... wasn't "WoKe" from the very start of it all.
I'm slapping my knee at the thought that a universally beloved American TV series wasn't consistently exploring the nature of objective truths and the systemic corruption and exploitation of the American people at the hands of its government... and it wasn't "WoKe" already!
And the notion that someone else would purposely want to make The X-Files irrelevant and bad even after Chris Carter had mostly already done that himself in fizzled attempts to revive it in an era where he had not much of anything to say at all.
What I'm trying to say is that you guys crack me up. It's a hoot trying to keep up with the manufactured outrage.
I really didn't understand any of that other than taking a another dig at people who disagree with you.
Lets look at the biggest box office films in current years. Avengers, Spider-Man, Top Gun, Joker, Jurassic World, John Wick. Then you got the animated stuff including the hyper realistic ones like The Lion King and Avatar. Yes, Black Panther and Shang-Chi are up there too but surprise, surprise neither are "diverse" now are they? On television/streaming House of Dragons is crushing it while The Ring of Power and Willow are much maligned.
