If you have any affection for the subject of this documentary, this is a very entertaining and moving film. Even if you don’t know anything about Fox, it’s still a compelling story thanks to brilliant editing that interweaves film footage and historical reenactment.
It was so engaging that I didn’t notice Powell’s score, but it sounds like it was a labor of love for him, according to that Deadline article:
“There’s 39 minutes of music,” Powell said. “It took me about five months to do. You can’t make a living if you work that slow.”
I’m going to check out those samples to refresh my memory.
While it's unlikely a CD will happen, it has a slightly better chance than others, as John Powell is amongst a number of film composers who seems to champion a physical release of his old and new stuff, where and when he can.
I really like Powell's work here, catchy, moving stuff.
No physical release, so to the other...
I tend to delay on digitial releases for a variety of reasons, and then usually go through Qobuz - but this is no longer available to purchase there. Huh.
About half a year? Double huh.
Still available to buy on 7digital, HDtracks, that Presto website, so I guess one of those will be the route (not too long from now).
