Interesting that for an actual reboot (meaning they're starting the story over), the promo uses the Williams theme. I wonder if they'll keep that for the series (which I'm sure is several years away).
Last I heard in the rumor mill was that WB was trying to woo Universal to buy them up, this is probably just another thing they want to make them look more valuable.
It makes no sense to use a theme from the original franchise for a remake, or use it in the trailer. This was nothing more than 'member berries and yanking at people's nostalgia.
To be fair, if you're selling something HARRY POTTER, it would be daft NOT to use the iconic John Williams theme to tempt would be viewers. Williams is the King of Franchise Themes.
