Rhino released a 2-CD set of the complete tracks to WIZARD OF OZ, including alternates and outtakes, and a book with lots of text and color photos.

Well, and there's Gigi, and American in Paris, Goodbye Mr. Chips, The Harvey Girls, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, etc. And of course so many not expanded or released on CD, like Scrooge etc. I was kinda shocked when Doolittle and Fiddler on the Roof were released. Don't have much expectations for movie musical releases.

I guess there's been some slight expansions like The Sound of Music and West Side Story but there's so many amazing musicals with incredible orchestral music and much of it is unreleased. I'm listening to a rip of Camelot and the entire score is gorgeous. I'd pick up an expanded release with quality sound in a heartbeat. An expanded "Victor/Victoria" has 31 tracks, 14 of which were previously unreleased, including a rehearsal track of "The Shady Dame From Seville".

Our limited experience is that they don't sell very well. MV

Weren't we told that the underscore tracks from HELLO, DOLLY! were lost or deteriorated? The latter. Not long after the release of LLL’s Doctor Dolittle, Mike Matessino confirmed that the tapes for that and Star! had deteriorated beyond repair. In another thread, he also mentioned that the tapes for South Pacific (one of my most wanted musical expansions) were MIA.

I do listen to a lot of classical music and a lot of film scores, but very few musicals. I do like some operas by Mozart, Wagner, and Verdi, but comparatively few musicals. Though I love West Side Story and My Fair Lady, so I'm not averse to musicals per se. I am not sure how much overlap is between the audience of film music and musicals. I know the overlap between classical music and film music is rather minuscule; I should know, I belong to it (I know there are a few more here on this board). Not sure if the musical/film score overlap is any larger.
