Amazing. I wonder if they'll crack open his CBS scores at UCLA.

The CD release is THE DISAPPEARANCE OF FLIGHT 412 (1974) and THE STRANGE POSSESSION OF MRS. OLIVER (1977).

Airing on television in 1974, THE DISAPPEARANCE OF FLIGHT 412 was written by George Simpson and Neal R. Burger, directed by Jud Taylor, starring Glenn Ford, Bradford Dillman, David Soul, Robert F. Lyons, Guy Stockwell, Greg Mullavey, Stanley Bennett Clay, Jonathan Goldsmith, Jack Ging, Ken Kercheval and Jesse Vint. THE DISAPPEARANCE OF FLIGHT 412 is a science fiction film, presented in a documentary style and tells the story of the crew of an Air Force jet that witnesses the disappearance of two other fighter jets that are scrambled to intercept a UFO as the military is determined to cover up the incident.

Broadcast on NBC in 1977, THE STRANGE POSSESSION OF MRS. OLIVER was written by Richard Matheson (THE LAST MAN ON EARTH, DUEL, THE LEGEND OF HELL HOUSE) , directed by Gordon Hessler (THE OBLONG BOX, CRY OF THE BANSHEE, THE GOLDEN VOYAGE OF SINBAD), starring Karen Black, George Hamilton, Robert F. Lyons, Lucille Benson, Jean Allison, Charles Cooper, Danna Hansen and Macon McCalman. THE STRANGE POSSESSION OF MRS. OLIVER tells the story of Miriam Oliver (Black), a beleaguered wife tired of her mundane life with her husband, Greg (Hamilton), Seeking an escape from her oppressive lifestyle, Miriam dons a new identity, referring to herself as ‘Sandy’. But it turns out that this Sandy may exist and her personality may be taking over Miriam’s...

Sounds good. I look forward to hearing this Stevens release.
But I'll wait to order it until the previous Gerald Fried release is delivered.
It's now over two weeks (15th April) since I received a Buysoundtrax email/tracking link saying "Your order is on the way", though tracking still says USPS hasn't received an item for shipment yet.

If after years of posts about the customer service issues of ordering from BSX you haven't learned anything, it is your own fault.

There are other online vendors you can order their stuff from and be assured to get your order filled.

Finally, a shamefully underrated composer is getting a C.D. of his television film work.

You should have received a link to a 24 bit download with the digital booklet that should hold you until the until the CDS start shipping this week, the plant has been running behind.

Hell, it's better sound then the CD itself.

And if the CD release is mysteriously cancelled just before shipment, you've still got the digital copy.

A wonderful surprise to start the day off with. Have we finally broken the Morton Stevens barrier? Could this be the beginning?

Both scores I was totally unfamiliar with. The first one grabs me more than the second, but I see disco source music listed in the second and that peeks my interest.

Will be there be an option to buy a digital only version of this (and Manions)?

Thankyou!

Wonderful. Here's hoping Buysoundtrax is able to do further volumes of Stevens music with such gems as THE HORROR AT 37,000 FEET, FACE OF FEAR, and THE PEOPLE IN 7A, among others.

I’ve been listening to this CD quite a bit today and it is simply wonderful. Some fine classic Stevens to be heard here and this music comes highly recommended.

Between this title and the MANIONS CD, there is quite a bit to listen to for Mort Stevens fans.

Another huge THANK YOU to the gang at BSX for releasing this great music!:-)

I've never had a negative experience with them. Quite the opposite. I was having trouble with unzipping the files on one of their releases yesterday and Mark responded swiftly and stayed on it throughout the day until we got the problem resolved.

I’ve been listening to this via Spotify and it’s a fantastic album.

The Disappearance score is good for sure, but it’s The Strange Possession score that I simply can’t stop listening to. It’s got that quintessential 70s TV Horror vibe that I love.

Once again, Dragons Domain remind me why they, and Terrorvision, are my favourite music labels of recent years.

And massive, massive kudos to DD for providing the digital download or streaming option. I wish all labels could manage that.

I'm enjoying the hell out of The Disappearance of Flight 412. Stevens did certainly know how to make his suspense music always engaging (To Arizona is a great cue). He was also very apt at making a 24-musician orchestra sounding like it's twice as big ! Thanks to everybody involved in this release.
