The easiest way to check is to call up one of Scott-B's old Film Score Friday pages from around your birthday date and see who was born, in the On This Day History section of his columns. That's how I did it, when I noticed Preisner's birthday last week.
Now there is a very cool range, and delighted to share a birthday with these two luminaries in very different aspects. Both I love - I have lots of their music at the ready on my phone.
Have to note I also share a birthday with William Schuman, one of the great mid-century composers in the American idiom - not too avant garde, but not easy listening.
And best of all, and with impressive film music credentials to boot - Louis Armstrong.
I share my birthday with Clinton Shorter, Frank Ilfman, Guillaume Roussel, John Kander born, William Lava and Yoko Kanno born but to fait, I only really know the first one. Even have one of his soundtracks, District 9.
You'd think adults would know better than to share their private information on the internet in a public forum. Don't be surprised when there's some random $300 dollar charge on your CC from Hong Kong in your near future.
