On the sidelines of the Howard Shore concerts in Paris last month (in the presence of the composer), Stephane Lerouge announced the holding of one (or more?) concert celebrating the centenary of Georges Delerue at the Maison de la Radio.
What would be the ideal program for a celebration of Georges Delerue in your opinion ?

Obviously a Truffaut Suite and for me personally, something from SILKWOOD and THE SUN HORSES.

Damian's picks are good, but I could never get into DAY OF THE DOLPHIN.

All strong and wonderful pieces - really - but it is highly unlikely that they will speak to a 2025 audience - cinematographically speaking.

Maybe include music from Twins, maybe even include previously unreleased music from Twins?

Why not, a complete release of his partially unused score would be nice.

But frankly, scoring Twins was a bad experience for Georges. Unusually for him, he was quite negatively expressive about that episode.

To be honest I have never been a fan of Delerue but his Twins score is a score that I would happily buy if someone would release it.

Just about anything by the great Georges Delerue would work beautifully on the program, as long as they choose the magnificent Tours du Monde, Tours du Ciel to open or close the concert. THAT is a masterpiece!
