Nightbreed will probably be out in July, so in the meantime we'll squeeze this title in June.

I've got their old bootleg but look forward to upgrading.

i remember seeing this film at a drive-in back in those days. Horner's early days where every one of his scores sounded like a Goldsmith rip-off. That's not quite the insult it sounds like. I'll add a very skillful rip-off. I liked Horner back then. In those early days. I'm glad this score has finally come out.

Oh, yes!! Finally!!!! And finally something worthy of attention and praise. Thank you, Intrada!

I remember seeing this movie in the theatre. Horner's "ripoffs" were more shocking than Lisa Hartman's missing boobs.

But put it down to Horner's accomplished arrangement skills that the score doesn't come off as a complete and utter hack job.

Oh shit! Exclaimed out loud.

Great news, a fun and interesting score for a crazy flick. Lots of seedlings to future Horner's here.

Actually, the Goldsmith temp track apes aside, there is some seriously gorgeous and inventive music from James Horner to be had here.
That Main Title is so lovely and wistful.
This early years period from Horner (1980-1989) is still my favourite by him.
His voice was so ready, but raw.

Haven't heard this, but I doubt it was more of an Omen rip-off than the score for that year's Evilspeak. The composer of that movie didn't even have the decency to change the Latin words chanted by the choir. I'd like to think that Horner was a little smarter than that.

Oh nice. I haven't seen the movie, I may track it down over the next few days.

Tubi has the movie for free (probably with ads) legally. Might be U.S. restricted for all I know.

That would be Roger Kellaway. Who was also responsible for 1979's The Dark, a delightfully awful B-movie whose score I'd like to see released.

It was posted on Intrada's Soundtrack Club group on Facebook.

Thanks, forgot to check that group.

I've not seen the movie. Listening to the score on youtube right now, it is a stronger, more interesting score than I expected from the Goldsmith-ripoff comments over the years.

Of course filled with all those Hornerisms as well, but as Kev noted, some very pretty music.

I may have to indulge in this one!

Vudu has it too, apparently in HD, I'll pay the few bucks rental to watch it ad free.

Wonderful news. I hope someone can also do THE HAND as well someday, some very nice melodic material in that one (particularly the main title). Early Horner tends to be among my favorite Horner.

The one thing I never understood in DEADLY BLESSING (not that the rest makes sense) is that the villagers are concerned about one of the young women being the "incubus," while I thought an incubus was always a male demon (succubus being the female equivalent).

Not exactly a Wes Craven classic, but one I'd happily watch in a theater again, and hugely looking forward to Intrada's CD.
