WOLFEN is one of my favorite scores, but it was also my earliest encounter with the then new composer James Horner back in the day, and I love the movie. I have the Intrada DEADLY BLESSING (ordered from Music Box Records with some other stuff, including INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS), but have not yet listened to it.
Speaking of Wolfen - I've got Deadly Blessing on order, but will the Horner-of-the-same-year Wolfen ever be re-released? OOP copies on Amazon are selling for around $200 - I'd be happier with a fresh in-print edition from Intrada at more the $20-25 range. Unfair for those of us out of the loop when that limited CD first came out, lol.
I sampled the first track at 24-bit 96kHZ and it sounded awful. The strings were horribly muted. Granted it was on my phone but my CD rip sounded considerably better.
This is another one I've been unable to get into over the years, but I'm trying again - and I've now whittled it down to a 36-minute playlist, which works resonably well. I haven't compared it to the OST, and not sure how I would do so anyway. Keeping some of the OMEN-esque suspense tracks, but focussing on the more melodic. It will never be a favourite, but it's more welcoming now.
