Seeing that Disc 2's bonus tracks of first season library cues are only 17 minutes, I think these could have been placed with Disc 1's bonus section and the 20-minute "Shore Leave", instead of being on Disc 1, could have opened Disc 2 with an all-Gerald Fried program.

Listening to the second volume - and for this thread, I feel obligated to say I don't own the box set LOL - I found hearing Gerald Fried's unused Catspaw cues "Orbiting Ship" and "Five To Beam Up" revelatory! They sound inspired by the closing credits of The Cage; I'm sure they're not, just coincidental. They also have a Barnaby Jones Theme-esque quality about them, so to my mind, it makes me wonder what Jerry Goldsmith might've composed had he been invited to the TOS party. Then again, the producers chose not to use these particular recordings, so Goldsmith's stuff might've scrapped too. LOL But as a non-box set owner, I'm truly loving hearing the 1701 Collection so far!

The people who put the work in and risk their money to bring out these CDs must be shaking their heads. I'd say the spine "issues" are picayune and nit-picky at best.

If a spin is designed purposefully to create an image when all CD's are put together, it's not "nit-picky" to point out when it's wrong. If anything, the pointing out of the over sight can help fix it when another series of booklets are made.

Now if I was getting these releases and they were all placed beside each other, not only would they stand out more than the others, but the flaw in its design would stick out like a sore thumb. Nice photo, Jeyl. Thanks! It seems like you have a lot of LLL CDs. I respect that. And arranged in catalog number order— that's hardcore! Your overall CD collection must be even more amazing.

Given that I will probably get all of these releases, I can fix the spines in Photoshop so they line up.

Nice collection indeed but I have to do mine alphabetically or I'll never find anything! I wonder what kind of magic keeps the top row from falling over, a force field perhaps? The CDs at each end are probably sitting on thin metal bookends, the L-shaped kind you can barely see.
