I hope the film's director is told that IMDb has chosen Michael Giacchino as the composer.
The curious thing is, if you look at the music department section, it clearly lists Zimmer's crew so somebody got it right but didn't change the composer.
Finally a sci fi movie that's not a franchise IP or a superhero flick. Worth seeing just for that.
Exactly right! Just what cinema goers have been craving: another entry in the Surrogate Daddy Shooting Spree sub-genre:
"Amidst a future war between the human race and the forces of artificial intelligence, Joshua, a hardened ex-special forces agent grieving the disappearance of his wife, is recruited to hunt down and kill the Creator, the elusive architect of advanced AI who has developed a mysterious weapon with the power to end the war… and mankind itself. Joshua and his team of elite operatives journey across enemy lines, into the dark heart of AI-occupied territory… only to discover the world-ending weapon he’s been instructed to destroy is an AI in the form of a young child."
Sound of Freedom at least had the kiddy diddling angle to arouse audience interest.
This? Another" "Oh noes!", there's a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious AI out of control and the world is going to end unless Daddy saves the CGI day.
I am excited for this as well. Spinmeister is right in that, story wise, this seems pretty generic to be honest. But it is a original sci-fi film made by a director that clearly cares about artistic elements. The cinematography looks spectacular and with a budget of just $86 million, the visual effects looks leagues above some other expensive action films. This doesn't look or feel like another Marvel or Disney film.
Let's be honest, even if this was the most original Science Fiction concept/plot/story imaginable, a poster like Spinmeister would still find something to gripe about.
I'll be supporting this movie in hopes that any success it has moves us further from the current plague of Superhero movies and reboots.
