While I was hoping for a rip-roaring score what was produced fit well within the film, especially the long atonal arrangement signifying dread and terror. I think "Divine" is the perfect musical statement for this incarnation of Godzilla. The piece has weight and portent much like Ifukube's original score.

I purchased the iTunes digital copy for $15 bucks. I usually wait for a movie to come down to $5 dollars. But I don't care, that's the price of a movie ticket nowadays. Watched it for the third time and the film is absolutely fantastic. Well developed interesting characters, a rich engaging story with meaning, gorgeously filmed set pieces, interesting visuals, exceptional sound design and a little bit of history to ground it all in the real world. This is what movies are all about. The only thing I noticed different from the theatrical release was the attack on Odo island is might brighter and you can see the visuals a lot better. In the theater that scene was so dark it was very hard to make out what was going on. That might be a negative for some as the darkened scene in the theater probably made it more scary, but having seen the film twice before I'm happy this scene is more visible in the digital version. Oh, one more thing. I am certain now. One boat goes missing in the final sequence. Four boats go out to sea. One was a decoy and is destroyed by Godzilla, two others were used to snare him and then pull him out of the water. But what happened to the fourth boat? Was it just a continuity error? Nice mini review! Yeah I bought both Color and Minus Color last weekend on iTunes. I have been watching the film sporadically since. So I think I'm up to 30x now. It's such a layered film. Sometimes I just look at the FX and see all the details, other times I look at the actors. Mizushima is a very insecure character. I notice his awkwardness first on the boat when Koichi first shows up, and then later during the dinner sequence at Koichi's home. You can see him trying to decide whether to take another puff of smoke or get more Sake from Noriko. I love little details like that. As for the 4th ship, it's probably somewhere at the bottom of the Bermuda Triangle. LOL. Or maybe while we weren't looking Ebirah grabbed it. LMAO.

The fourth ship must have been the cowards, they said hell with this and high tailed it out of there! LOL "A layered film" is the perfect way of describing it. I forgot to mention my admiration for the direction of the child actress, I don't know how they got that performance out of her at that age. I didn't notice the Minus Color version. Is that a separate purchase or available as a bonus feature with the color presentation? I'd be interested in seeing the film in black and white. I wish I could remember how many times Ive seen my favorite films , but I just loss count. Like I know Ive seen Star Wars (77) at least 10 times, but between theatrical release, cable, broadcast television, VHS, DVD, digital over 40 years? 25? 50? 100? I have no idea!

Awesome figurine! Thanks! That’s the 10” Ichibansho figure of Minus One. He’s a big boy but not as large as the XPlus 13” coming out this summer.

This score ultimately didn't do much for me, but I'm certainly intrigued with this release. I'll be grabbing it. do you mean as a stand alone listening or in the movie?
