A classic album, as unique now as it was when it came out. What makes it work is that Ray Thomas of the Moodies played flute and Mike Pinder played Mellotron, and these instruments helped bridge the gaps between the classical sections and the pop/rock sections, helping to make the presentation seamless. Knight's orchestrations and expansions of the Moodies' themes are absolutely brilliant. As one person mentioned, the release with the two different versions is the way to go, as there are some important differences between the two.
