This was the most likely title when Intrada put HZ, HG-W & NG-S on their upcoming composers roster. I'll have to dig out the old CD and see if I remember much about it. Ain't played it in eons.
I saw the movie when it came out and enjoyed it quite a bit, may be Michael Bay's best film. Don't remember much of the score, but this could be an interesting release.
My first reaction was: it's a great theme but the score becomes repetitive and tedious ...
and then, I thought: but I don't have the score, only a cover version - Nic Raine/CoPP - of the theme (which I like), I must be confusing this with ...
... so a check of my library: I find I do have the score (not played since Jan 21)!
Conclusion: I'm getting old!
I doubt I shall be tempted but hope those who buy love the score/presentation.
One of my top 50 favourite scores of all time, and my second-favourite Zimmer score. A masterpiece through and through, right in the middle of his Golden Age (which IMO lasted between 1989 and 2003). Such a reference point now, and such a great recruiter for new, young film music fans at the time.
Loved the film at the time and album got a lot of play. The Hans Zimmer theme is great. A much needed improvement over the NGS early version. Some exciting set Pieces. Definitely support this release.
And it's not an NGS score. And not a HZ score. It's an NGS/HZ/HGW- score, even though I remember only Nick and Hans received opening credits when I saw the film 27 years ago.
Also, "The Chase" was composed by Don Harper.
I wonder if the additional score by Steven M. Stern and Craig Braginsky will be included.
