Isn't there a scene in The Rock when Nicholas Cage and Sean Connery end up in a mine car after the Seals are wiped out and they are being chased by the bad guys? I presume that the track is for that scene and that the track title is a nod to Temple of Doom.

Yes, that is the scene. And it does look very Indiana Jones, so they probably just had a little fun while thinking of the track title. Hans and co often do this. They even come up with random titles which has nothing to do with the actual scenes but are more internal jokes. Like "Too Many Notes (Not Enough Sleep)" for DROP ZONE which I guess means it was a very long night for them creating that cue? And also in the OST for FACE/OFF there's a track called "Hans' Loft". There is no Hans in the movie, lol! big grin

And Sean Connery is Indiana Jones' dad, after all.

Okay, I just thought they accidentally put an Indiana Jones cue on this release. Keep in mind I haven't had time to listen to it yet. I just imported it.

Lol, you do know the track titles are also on the back of the album, right?

That's definitely the answer. The original cue sheet has these tracks listed as "10m21 Indiana Jones / Fight With Marines Parts 1 & 2"

As many archival collections albums, the track list had to be made after the cue sheet titles.

Has anyone had issues on disc 1, track 20 around 1:47 with it cutting out and distortion?

Mmmmmh no that's not normal. I asked a friend to check and his copy is fine.

Only place where there's a slight bit of distortion is near the end of Chase Demo v2, as it's how we got it.

Probably get in touch with Intrada. smile

Nope. Is this whole you're playing the CD or did you rip it?

Went for a long walk today whilst listening to The Rock. The score is incredible, it gets better and better every time I listen to it.

This thing has been on repeat pretty much since I got it (with breaks only for The Creator and Night After Night lol)

There is one weird question I have about the release though... Some of the longer tracks were made up of different cues and then put together which makes total sense. But I'm curious why he tracks Tour's Over Bob and Hummel's Speech weren't joined. I know there's a little break between the cues in the movie but I feel like there might've been little breaks in the big Final Attack portion too if I remember right. I only ask since the soundtrack had these joined so I'm wondering if there was a reason they weren't here.

Not a complaint or anything by any means since the release is fantastic, just curious!

Actually, there was debate about that, and for a while we kept it the way it was put together in the 1996 album.

But even though that's the way we listened to it for many years and got used to it, that edit/transition feels a little bit too rushed in that album. The more I listened to the assembly, the more I felt something wasn't right. The cue really stands out in the movie, it needed to breathe, and the first seconds set you in the mood to go from action to big Hummel drama.

So in the end I kept it separate... smile

My rip. I did it again and it went away.

Makes sense! The only reason I actually noticed was because it seems like the structure of the soundtrack was really kept intact where it could be except for that one specific little edit. Thanks! smile

This CD set is awesome. Fond memories of seeing the film and buying the album at the time. This one got a lot of repeat plays back in the day. So much fun. Loved the gravitas of the theme and emphasis of orchestra throughout working in harmony with the electronics. Loved the album edits of some cues but this full on presentation is fantastic fun and plays very well. The powerhouse opening sequence and the car chase are sublime with more music and utterly exhilarating. The extras are also enjoyable, the exciting car chase alternates are a real buzz, but glad they dropped the emphasis on the guitar and made the subtle changes to the theme here for the final version. It always sounded spectacular but there is sonic enhancements that give the score even more of a boost. Absolutely fantastic release from Intrada. The lengthy booklet notes are very informative. Well done to all involved and thank you!

Not a complaint just a question for clarification. Are the cues on the CD out of film order?
Edit: Cancel that, I read the press release!
