Fans of Academy Award-winner John Williams will be delighted to learn that there is a new, exclusive “score-only” version of the movie allowing viewers to listen to the composer’s iconic music on an isolated track as they watch the film.
Yeah, it’s basically just a collectible now I guess. But then it kinda was before too, because the score was widely available in lossless audio already… (maybe even hi res?)
I think a lot of people will reassess the score now that substantially more of it will soon be available… even though there was a fair amount of music reused from previous scores in the series (maybe just re-recorded cues as has happened with previous Lucasfilm franchise projects for Williams).
Nothing was tracked in from other films. There are new compositions that sound very similar to older Williams score, but they are never identical note-for-note reuses.
There are passages from the first 4 Indiana Jones scores that re-appear note-for-note the same, but again, they are new recordings and not tracked from old recordings.
Best of both worlds. I have the CD on order (crossing my fingers that the October 18 shipping date holds true), and looking forward to having the entire score in Dolby Atmos on this release!

I forgot about that. Still, to hear that "version" (if you could it that) of "Spyders" from MINORITY REPORT as they flee the library, sans sound effects, would be interesting indeed.
