John Carpenter, Cody Carpenter and Daniel Davies are scoring the upcoming dark comedy 'Death of a Unicorn' starring Jenna Ortega and Paul Rudd.

I assumed his his gig would be another Blumhouse movie. This is awesome.

Someone on another forum said that it didn't work out with Carpenter and two other composers ended up scoring the film. Carpenter (and sons) haven't promoted this on their socials, either.

Hopefully it isn't true.

Sorry to hear it. I'm looking forward to any new score by Carpenter (& co.) these days. For some reason, I gravitate more towards his latter-day stuff than the iconic stuff from the 70s and 80s. If this falls through, hopefully there's something else coming up instead.

On the one hand a shame Carpenter & Co didn't work out but I also quite like Romer, so still curious to this one

Haven't many composers said they never feel like they "made it" until getting their first rejected score? Well I guess that young chap Johnny Carpenter has finally made it in the world of film scoring! This movie looks pretty bad. About the only thing I anticipated was the Boys Carpenter (and Davies) and their music. I like Romer, however. I'll probably give this a listen at some point but it won't be a priority.
