Someone on another forum said that it didn't work out with Carpenter and two other composers ended up scoring the film. Carpenter (and sons) haven't promoted this on their socials, either.
Sorry to hear it. I'm looking forward to any new score by Carpenter (& co.) these days. For some reason, I gravitate more towards his latter-day stuff than the iconic stuff from the 70s and 80s. If this falls through, hopefully there's something else coming up instead.
Haven't many composers said they never feel like they "made it" until getting their first rejected score? Well I guess that young chap Johnny Carpenter has finally made it in the world of film scoring! This movie looks pretty bad. About the only thing I anticipated was the Boys Carpenter (and Davies) and their music. I like Romer, however. I'll probably give this a listen at some point but it won't be a priority.
