I remember in the first movie, they explicitly mentioned a space ship taking off (it was background news)... I always thought that was neat, and that one day they should return to this and have the spaceship land on the "Planet of the Apes". Now it seems they're having the proper stage.

The Icarus went missing in space in Rise of The Planet of The Apes. I wondered if and when they were going to have the astronauts show up.
Such a cumbersome title, as have all the new ones -- KINGDOM OF THE PLANET OF THE, WAR OF THE PLANET OF THE etc. But I know PLANET OF THE APES is a trademark thing, so they need to have the full title. But they should just have called them PLANET OF THE APES: DAWN, PLANET THE APES: WAR etc. if avoiding numericals is an issue.
Anyway, I haven't heard any Paesano in years. Should be interesting to hear his approach to the world; I'm relieved MG is no longer attached.

You think so? I like theses ".... of the Planet of the Apes" titles. In any case, looking forward to this. So far, this series has shown to be a worthy franchise-reboot.

It's in line with the entire franchise since the beginning.
BENEATH THE PLANET OF THE APES ESCAPE FROM THE PLANET OF THE APES CONQUEST OF THE PLANET OF THE APES BATTLE FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES
They may be cumbersome, but they're true to the style. It's no worse for me than STAR WARS EPISODE III: REVENGE OF THE SITH, etc.
I haven't heard anything from this composer that spoke to me so I guess I'm in your camp (but I figure we will see what he comes up with). Which composer would you have liked to take over this franchise?
I think Teddy Shapiro would be a great choice. His experimental scores for The Invitation and Destroyer would be good sonic landscapes for this series. Some might not be aware that Shapiro studied with John Corigliano at Julliard. He's most known for his comedy scores but they guy has serious range.
I would have thought MY ALL AMERICAN would have been a BIG fan favourite around here. From the makers of HOOSIERS and RUDY and definitely packing a JG vibe in the writing (to me at least).

I would have thought the same thing. I think you and I are the only real fans of this incredible score.

I think they are. The double "of the" being the main perpetrator, grammatically. BENEATH was really the only one that "made sense" in that regard. Also, what's a kingdom of the planet, anyway? It should of course be just KINGDOM OF THE APES. But yes, I realize they're worked-in ways to name them. I just don't like it.
