Just got done watching on PBS "An American Experience: Center Of The World" which was a touching and very moving documentary about the building... and devastation... of the World Trade Centers.
Weaving the visuals was Brian Keane's hauntingly beautiful theme from "New York" (another PBS documentary series) and some other pieces that he composed.
Did anyone happen to watch this as well? If you have, or didn't, would anyone have any information as to if the music from THIS show will be released onto cd form? I know there is a cd from the "New York" series which has the touching theme in it, but there were several variations plus other compositions in this particular series.
I missed tonite's show but I am a big fan of Brian Keane. In addition to NEW YORK there is other great music OF his available on cd. ANSEL ADAMS, LONG JOURNEY HOME, and especially THE WAY WEST contain many excellent selections of Keane's haunting music. Now, when is Hollywood going to take notice and start giving this guy some feature work?!
I'm very keen on Keane's underscores for so many great doumentary films. Did Keane also score Ric Burns' THE DONNER PARTY? I know - everyone remembers DARK SPANISH SYMPHONY by Angelo B...BUT, there's an orginal score underneath - just so cool. Has he only scored for PBS etc.,? Of course...he's already working for two of the best documentarians...two absolutely great film makers!

He also did BABE RUTH for HBO. I don't think it's on CD but it is on DVD
