I remember Break Out in Capricorn One being very stop/start, as the astronauts attempt their escape from the desert hang out.
Lots of pauses between the music, to cover the action onscreen.
But yeah, the way Goldsmith took out all the gaps and fused it all together for the absolute Tour De France it is...well... it's truly nail biting, pulse pounding film music.
And the beefier orchestra performance on the re-record adds a lot too.

This phenomenon is widely known as The Goldsmith Syndrome.

Good one!

I'd like to hear Goldsmith's score to this thriller. (But I guess I already have.)
