Happy Birthday, John! Half of my CD collection has your name on it, and you, more than anyone, made me go back to see movies again and again just to hear the brilliant way you used music to make so many of them the classics they are.

Sincerely, a big admirer for 44 years.

P.S. Please return my lawnmower you borrowed in 1978 or I'm filing a suit with Judge Judy.

The Reivers is one of the first soundtracks that fell onto my turntable.

And like Spielberg, I'd planned on having Williams score all of my life altering moments. One of them was sitting through Earthquake with Sensurround. Wherever I went to a theatre, there was yet another Williams score to fall in love with. And another LP/CD to hunt down.

So while we all play our fave selections from that vast library of Williams scores, John Williams is probably playing his fave Haydn, Mozart or Beethoven album, with a dash of Mancini Peter Gunn sounds - just to remind himself of how far he's come.

I'm optimistic that John Williams will be around many a year from now, hopefully with another staggeringly great score to rip our hearts asunder.

Happy Big Birthday!!

Now Johnny outlives Ennio Morricone who died aged 91. Happy birthday and many more to come!

I don't have that much Williams scores but I played my favorite Family Plot and also dug up Stanley & Iris (the Japanese SLCS edition) which I haven't heard for maybe 15 years!
