Stoked if this is getting a CD release, but the info on the amazon page is all muffed up.
$42.98 for a 2-CD set, with the track listing spread across four discs? Doesn't compute.
There's a separate listing for a vinyl release (with the same track listing as the CD release) priced at $35.78, so if there is a CD release forthcoming, it'll probably be closer to $25.
And yes, it will be mine.
Yes, i wondered that as well. Hope they haven’t made a listing screw up and its only going to be the LP version.
I finally got around to watching the film and I thought Korven's score was the best thing about it. I also found his Night Swim also incredibly effective. For me, he's the most interesting compositional voice in horror today.
Yes, Korven is a really good composer, but is he really the best for horror films? For me, that is still Chris Young by far. I am still blown away by Nosferatu. Nevertheless, this CD will of course go into my collection, hopefully the price will be adjusted down soon.
I loved the score myself. Very spooky choir and atonal stuff, so if that isn't your bag then feel free to skip it. I liked the movie a lot as well, until it has to announce its legacy prequel status in the final act. It was a much stronger movie when it was just about Sister Margaret being pulled in every direction by the church and by the conspirators. They really put her through a psychological ringer. A similar film from last year, Immaculate, wasn't as visually or aurally as strong as this one but it had a great ending that felt like the complete opposite of a studio note. I wish that was here instead of what we did get.
