I think he is a great choice. I'm sure he will get a haircut for the role. He is young enough to stay with the series for a while. How he does in his first Bond role will dictate his future as Bond.
Over the past few decades Eon have been very skillful at keeping their new Bond casting under wraps until they are ready to reveal him.
Eon are also masters of manipulating the media to get publicity for the latest Bond movie.
I’m guessing this latest rumour is a fabrication from Eon’s PR department, keeping the public interest in the franchise while they have no substantive news to actually release.
Considering the source of this is The Sun this announcement lacks any credibility (just as EON's denial) apart from him being a likely candidate to be considered by EON. While I can't say that I am excited about him taking over as Bond he was terrific in Bullet Train and was pretty good in Kick-Ass. Depending on the approach the Broccoli's take on the reboot he might be a decent choice. And for those complaining about his looks: They have certain people on movie sets that do some bizarre things like hair, make-up and costumes. When they do their work he'll be perfect for the part at least as far as the look is concerned.
I will be waiting for EON's announcement whenever it will come. Until then everybody can speculate or put forward their own choices. My personal short list consists of Johnny Flynn, Aidan Turner, John Boyega, Himesh Patel, Daniel Kaluuya and Charlie Stemp.
