Okay, I'll bite. As others have said, these numbers are approximate, based on whether you count box sets as one or multiple, whether you count duplicates, separating vinyl out from CD, etc., but...

Jerry Goldsmith >130
John Williams >100
Hans Zimmer 60
Danny Elfman 53
James Horner 49
Ennio Morricone 42
Elmer Bernstein 40
James Newton Howard 36
John Barry, John Scott 33
Alan Silvestri 29
Alexandre Desplat, Michael Giacchino 26
Basil Poledouris 25
Patrick Doyle, Trevor Jones, John Powell, Miklos Rozsa 24
Christopher Young 23
Bernard Herrmann, Howard Shore 22
David Arnold 21
George Fenton, Maurice Jarre 20
...

When I made my list, I was unsure of whether to include musicals or not (especially since quite a few of the ones I have weren’t written specially for the screen) so I had decided not to include them with the exception of the Alan Menken scores since he also wrote the underscore for those films. But for those who are curious, these are the musical CDs in my collection under their original composers:

Lerner and Loewe: 2 (Gigi and Camelot)
Rodgers and Hammerstein: 2 (Carousel and The Sound of Music SDE)

One CD:

Leslie Bricusse: Doctor Dolittle
Sherman Brothers: Mary Poppins

Haven't counted the Morricone yet.
I have 144 Piero Piccioni scores and 106 Stelvio Cipriani.

Still cant face counting the Ennio yet.
I double checked, it's
Piccioni 146
Cipriani 122

Ortolani 82
Trovajoli 78
Umiliani 71
Nicolai 64
Piovani 57
De Masi 56
Savina 56
Bacalov 50
Rusticelli 48
Ferrio 48
Lavagnino 43
Buonvino 32
Fidenco 24
And quite a few Italians between 10 and 20 scores.
I do have a decent chunk each of Goldsmith, Jarre, Barry, Goodwin, Budd, Schifrin, Elmer, fielding, williams but not counted them

Bill, I didn't think there were as many as 82 Ortolani CDs. And 32 by Buonvino is also an amazing figure, isn't it ? The numbers for Piccioni and Cipriani are also very high. Regardless, noone can deny that you are a true specialist of Italian scores !

Never set out that way, it just grew. And there are bigger collectors than me, that's for sure.

Nice assortment. I would pay real money for a Kolchak set or Columbo, WWW III, Frankenstein... etc. You get the idea.

I wish the specialty labels would release legitimate versions. If it would be possible. I've been hoping for Blood Beach. Bad movie but great score, probably not likely to get a release.
