Strangely enough, I was rewatching Bedknobs and Broomsticks earlier today (one of many Disney films he and his brother Robert provided songs for). The songs he helped write for Disney and outside that studio (such as Chitty Chitty Bang Bang) were staples of my childhood (Mary Poppins being a particular favorite).

He and his brother were my favorite songwriters. May he certainly RIP.

He was just lovely on so many levels. I was lucky enough to chat with quite a few times, go to his house, birthday parties etc. and he always had a smile for every person, a true warm inviting smile.

Honored to have had him at my 3rd annual Fans of Film Music event in 2012.

a true talent and he seemed like a genuinely kind person, so many wonderful songs he and his brother wrote.
It has been a tough week for Disney fans.

Which is where I also met him for a brief hello and selfie.

Sorry to hear this, even though 95 is incredibly good innings. They were so good at creating "earworm songs", he and his brother.

They were incredibly talented, and wrote so many memorable songs. They don't make them like they used to.

This one hit very hard. What a lovely guy. It's strange, a couple of days before his passing, I had thought about watching the 2009 documentary about Richard and Robert, entitled 'The Boys' on Disney+. I started watching it a few months ago but didn't get around to finishing it. I've now watched it twice through, since Richard passed.
