Interesting choice. Not what I would have gone with, but I know quite a few people have been clamoring for the first score. Best of luck to Intrada!

So will Keystone Kops be the full score with Stein and Lava cues also, or only a partial score covering Mancini’s contribution? Much as I love Mancini I hope it’s the former. Yavar

This could be interesting. I'm not familiar with film or music. I could never stand A&C.

What happened with THE CHAIRMAN or is that supposed to be that long coming and never anything happening about aka the Kritzerland's Kickstarter?? I don't think Roger ever mentioned that the winner of that poll would necessarily be the next Kickstarter (I'm pretty sure it was more to mine potential candidates). Also, Bruce hasn't made any definite statements as to whether or not he's going through with his planned Kickstarter, nor did he say which of the ten he was planning on recording.

I am definitely curious how something this niche will actually do when even the Horner scores fail to reach the goal. never heard about/watched anything Abbott and Costello and no reason to care much then... but perhaps it is really that popular over there and general public will be into it. The only part I care about is the Mancini contribution. Well, A&C aren’t really “niche” (at least not here in the States). They’re still pretty much “a household name” and part of pop culture like The Three Stooges, for better or worse! A better argument against this project might be that comedy scores don’t tend to sell, and that’s probably why Marco Polo/Naxos got cold feet about Morgan and Stromberg doing this back in the late 90s/early 2000s when they originally wanted to. But that said… A&C Meet Frankenstein may be a comedy film, but isn’t really a comedy score — it is “played straight” and in many ways is the culmination of the beloved classic Universal monster scores, which began with Franz Waxman’s Bride of Frankenstein in 1935 and continued through a lot of wonderful Skinner/Salter/Dessau music through the 40s. Morgan and Stromberg newly recorded a whole bunch of these complete for Marco Polo in the 90s and they wouldn’t have been able to keep doing so many of them if they didn’t sell well at the time. (Horror scores DO tend to sell well, as a genre.) The question is whether they will still sell well a quarter century later… and I guess we are about to find out with a new Kickstarter campaign! What happened with THE CHAIRMAN or is that supposed to be that long coming and never anything happening about aka the Kritzerland's Kickstarter?? Hopefully it’ll still be attempted by someone or other. Demand for it has clearly been demonstrated by Intrada’s last poll. But with all that Len Engel specialty percussion it’s probably an expensive proposition to do, despite the demand. While the Goldsmith fan in me is similarly disappointed, I’m so happy for John and Bill because I know A&C Meet Frankenstein has been a holy grail score of theirs to tackle for almost three decades now! I hope people will support this, which will also indicate that rerecordings can be successful for premieres by composers who aren’t just named Goldsmith/Herrmann/Rozsa/Korngold. Skinner is a great composer, and it’s also cool to be getting a Henry Mancini rerecording project for his Centenary Year! Yavar

Yeah, and Salter goes nicely on album with Skinner. But: Henry Mancini Centenary Year! Yavar
