Jason, please explain. Is this the formula when an old, LEGITIMATE thread goes kablooey or something?

I don't know what the original query concerns (it leads to the board's main page?), but I'm more worried about the "service not available" error that we get very often now. Usually mornings and noons here in Europe, while the US is asleep, which is annoying, because that's when I have the most time to visit the board. It used to be once or twice a week, now it's practically every day, for hours.

Yes, it leads to the board's main page. In the meantime, you can't post to or do anything on the old thread, it's virually locked in that modified archive format. confused

That’s right Thor. We Europeans are getting a 2nd class service!

Well, at least your error has a board to (not) work in. All we get is a blank white page all morning and noon. wink Seriously, I hope that yours is worked out to.

Still awaiting an answer (forgive me if y'all are working on it if it is indeed a glitch)...

I don't have a clue why the thread here doesn't work, I just found an archive on it on the Wayback Machine if you wanted to read it.

Gotcha. There must be a way to fix the situation. My concern relates to what happened when the board was shut down, updated and brought back up in October, Y2K. All the posts dating back to 1998 were lost, in time, like tears in…

I believe when it says "Service Not Available" that is because the server is down/experiencing maintenance.

That's one weak-ass server when it has to do that multiple times a day, and for hours. Hopefully, it gets sorted out at some point. We can talk about various board issues until the cows come home, but if there ain't a board to begin with, it all becomes moo(t).

I have a new daily constitutional: click on that old thread just to see if it stops flipping to The Front Page here.
Whoops not today...
