Got my CD today!! Can't wait to listen. On the bonus side, it appears that LLL has improved the 2-disc hubs. They don't hold the discs with a death lock.

I doubt it's LLL. Most likely the pressing plant.

Well.... LLL would approve of that too, wouldn't they?

I would guess not but I really don't know.

Interesting, my experience is quite the opposite with LLL's jewel cases for 2 disc or more releases. A lot of times the discs almost fall out of the case the moment I open them.

I don't fully understand it, but I believe it's been mentioned here that certain studios/rights holders (including Sony, which this film was) require certain pressing plants to be used. So I'm not sure if LLL would have any choice in this.

But again, I don't fully understand it. Or really understand it at all. And yet, I post anyway.

I have noticed the quality of the cases has deteriorated, the cases are not sturdy as they once were.

Just gave it a first listen. Holy cow this is insanely good if you’re a Kamen fan. More than double the running length. So happy to have this finally.

Anyone would know how to arrange the song album into the lalaland set to recreate the full movie experience ? No need to butcher songs, just to place them in the correct film order along the cues. Would be great to have this tracklist !

Roughly, of the score presentation, how much would be classed as ' rock riffs'. As opposed to good ol' fashioned orchestral?

Excellent question. I dearly love Kamen's music, but I could definitely give the rock stuff a miss. I'll work out a suite afterwards, if possible.

If theres only a few, then I'm in. Say of the 100 mins , that there was about 15 mins rock riffs i could live with that.( maybe a touch more).

I just received the Last Action Hero Expanded Edition and this is the first time I have ever heard the score. So I listened to the OST score album first and wow a great thrill ride of a listening experience. Really enjoyed the 41 minutes. Next I put on the expanded score at 102 minutes and wow what a completely different listening experience. It has much quieter parts and tells a different musical story with obviously more music that has more subtlety than the OST score album. Two unique and different listening experiences. The score album seems to be mostly action music highlights and the expansion builds tension and drama more. Initially prefer the 41 minute album although I will probably grow to appreciate the expanded score on repeated listens. Sound quality and listening experience is great. Well done La La Land Records and everyone involved in this great 2-CD release. Glad to have both the OST score album and expanded score as I didn’t have either.
Thanks,
MotoMan
