Thanks to Rob Zombie, the original soundtrack comes to vinyl.

"this release features segments of the film's dialogue and sound effects appealingly included and sourced from the restored original soundtrack."

"Appealingly"? Do they think we all want dialogue and effects along with the music?

I’m wondering if that’s because a music only source doesn’t survive for this score, and they’re trying to spin it as a positive. I like this score and film so more detail is needed…

The music tracks are long gone. This is the complete composite soundtrack on two LP's. Great artwork.

More like "The original movie, minus the visuals, comes to vinyl."

Bummer. Maybe a re-recording some day. (Certainly A&C Meet Frankenstein being successful could encourage more 50s horror scores to be tackled…)

No written scores to Von Dexter's music exist. I spoke to his widow ages ago.

The best piece of music in the film is the main title. Yet the credits tell us that the "Theme House on Haunted Hill" is written by Richard Kayne and Richard Loring.

It’s an excellent score, very atmospheric and evocative. The 1953 score for Invaders from Mars (whoever actually composed it) is another one that deserves a good restoration and of course the greatest of them all: The Haunting 1963. But I ask for too much.
