I’m wondering if that’s because a music only source doesn’t survive for this score, and they’re trying to spin it as a positive. I like this score and film so more detail is needed…
The best piece of music in the film is the main title. Yet the credits tell us that the "Theme House on Haunted Hill" is written by Richard Kayne and Richard Loring.
It’s an excellent score, very atmospheric and evocative. The 1953 score for Invaders from Mars (whoever actually composed it) is another one that deserves a good restoration and of course the greatest of them all: The Haunting 1963. But I ask for too much.
