I believe he is positive towards interviews, but I guess he is not contacted every day about it..
Yes, I thought about Moroder too when I saw this.
Levay is a big Williams (and Goldsmith) fan, and he is friendly with Zimmer and JNH. How cool had it been if Hans would collaborate with Levay on a score before it's too late...
As I could hear from this interview, Sylvester Levay basically did the entire score for FLASHDANCE, and did a few bars for the song What a Feeling. Moroder focused more on the songs (Apparently, as in the case of SCARFACE). It's good that at least Levay's name was added to the opening credits. Moroder in this regard reminded me of Jack Nitzsche, but Jack at least himself did the arrangement of all his scores. Arrangement is essentially the basis of composition. Levay is very talented, but I think it's unlikely that he will compose anything for films, even with Zimmer, given the current rules of Hollywood. His last score was made 30 years ago...
Listening to the COBRA rip, it's definitely clear that there are sounds/synths in there that Levay used when he arranged SCARFACE for Moroder. GREAT stuff!
Come on labels! "Airwolf"- & "Cobra"-Soundtrack please (and maybe "Wet Gold" too).
I believe Levay talked about WET GOLD (without mentioning the title) in the interview. It was a replacement score he did in a few hours in 1984, replacing John Scott.

Levay is fast and good. I like his early stuff most (1980 - 1986).

I don't think he did anything before 1982.
I think he was great all through his career from 1982-2007.
