I'm excited to announce that we've made it to our 15th anniversary. The amount of people who have helped in the industry as well as volunteers has to be in the hundreds, thank you.

The event will be Oct. 19 from 10AM to noon at Silent Zoo Studios formerly The Bridge in Glendale, CA. We just signed two composers we'll announce very soon.

Keep an eye on here, the Fans of Film Music Facebook & Instagram pages, and our website for updates. We'll be opening up tickets soon as well.

I envy your financial resources, Tobias.

But even if I can't attend (it will be only that one time in 2012, for what I think was the 2nd edition?), I'm always curious to see which composers Peter manages to haul in.

Our first guest announcement is composer, arranger, producer, music director, saxophonist and educator Tom Scott. He’s a 3x Grammy winning artist. As a musician he’s performed on some of the m most iconic movie scores of our time including TAXI DRIVER soundtrack, THE JERK, THREE DAYS OF THE CONDOR, HEAVEN CAN WAIT, SEA OF LOVE, WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT?, TOY STORY 2, MONSTERS INC. and the latest release of A STAR IS BORN. His film composing career includes these legendary films CONQUEST OF THE PLANET OF THE APES, UPTOWN SATURDAY NIGHT, STIR CRAZY, HANKY PANKY, THE SURE THING, SOUL MAN, SHAKES THE CLOWN. Varèse Sarabande Records released a CD of Tom’s rejected score from the film NEIGHBORS years ago. Tom’s television credits include the theme songs for FAMILY TIES and STARSKY & HUTCH, background scores for BARETTA, CANNON, BARNABY JONES, STREET OF SAN FRANCISCO & numerous T.V. Movies and Specials. He most recently composed the score for the HBO documentary THE BRONX, U.S.A. CD soundtrack on Notefornote Music. He’s worked with some of the most iconic and beloved recording artists of our time including Carole King, Quincy Jones, Paul McCartney, Whitney Houston, Barbra Streisand, Blues Brothers, Joni Mitchell, George Harrison & many more in his 50+ year career and has released 33 solo albums of his music. The blurb about Tom Scott is a little confusing. It's probably worth clarifying that he didn't play on the original TAXI DRIVER score - that was Ronny Lang - but he did play on the re-recording (more a re-imagining) released at the time, the one with the Dave Blume arrangements.

Anyway, I shan't be able to make it, but you all try to have a good time without me.

It starts at 6:27. We have a few angels that we're hopeful to get edited, but with work, repping some wonderful composers like Christopher Young and Vince DiCola, time is limited at the moment, but we'll get another version up at some point.
