Does anyone remember this series and who wrote the music for it ?
I vaguely remember the main theme which I thought was excellent !
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi, Leo

Are you refering to the video-taped series created by Terry Nation?
If so, this series started in 1975. My recollections on this tell me that very little music was used ... unless you are referring to an altogether different show?

This is a proto-Dynasty thought up by Harold Robbins. It was a big flop for ABC.

(The above is the opening from an Italian print.

Hi Zardoz, No, It's the one that CindyLover has mentioned above, the one that starred Lana Turner, Ralph Bellamy and George Hamilton.
Made in 1969.
The main title reminded me a little of Billy Goldenberg's music for 'Banacek'......but I'd just be guessing ?

'Lana Turner as "Tracy".' That billing is ludicrous. Putting her character name in quotation marks? confused

Leo, the imdb lists -

Pete Rugolo (7 episodes)
Perry Botkin Jr. (3 episodes)
Gil Grau (1 episode)
Hans J. Salter (1 episode)
Michel Colombier, Maurice Jarre and Stanley Wilson (unknown episodes)

No idea how accurate that is. I'd never heard of the series m'self.

I have Jon Burlingame's exemplary tome, "Music For Prime Time" at hand. Burlingame specifies that Maurice Jarre scored the pilot, and "new arrival" Michel Colombier replaced him for the first six hours.

Interesting. Very early Colombier credit (I think he did some short films in France before this). COLOSSUS: THE FORBIN PROJECT is one of my favourite scores of all time, but I could never connect with his later stuff, not that I've heard much of it.

No episodes of this have ever popped up online at the usual sources (that I have ever seen).

And I've never seen a video or soundtrack release either....very strange ?

It's not unusual -- there's a tong of short-lived series, even ones by people like Quinn Martin and Aaron Spelling -- that have never been released. And even some popular series have not been released in-full (still no release, for one example, of season four of "Baretta").

And it's even worst for TV series. In spite of the change labels like LLLR and Intrada have done with all that fantastic TV series scoring sets, it's barely even a dent.

Yes, there are so many hidden treasures out there.

Exactly, which is one of the primary reasons I do the threads I do. And when this series pops up one day, I'll cover it, too (and make suites, unless some label beats me to it).

Thanks, let's hope it does.
